The team is proud to announce the release of BackBox Linux 1 RC. This new release is based on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, kernel Linux 2.6.32, Xfce 4.6.1 and features a lot of improvements.
A complete desktop experience, a simplified usage of the system resources making it suitable in situations where speed is a crucial factor. The default theme mixes the elegance of a dark theme with the usability of a light theme. Thanks to the software stored on our online repository, BackBox is designed to be an useful and simple tool for Penetration Testing.
The BackBox Linux 1 will comes in 32 & 64-bit, with ISOs for both architectures.

Backbox Linux is being rewritten. We are working on a new version based on Ubuntu Lucid. Among the innovations the adoption of Xfce as the desktop environment and a new PPA repository by Launchpad.
