BackBox Team is proud to announce the publication of the first book titled “Penetration Testing with BackBox”. We had many requests from the users and members all around the community about a BackBox based book. Finally, we are deligthed to introduce the long awaited publication!

The book contains enough information to get familiar with BackBox and all its functionalities and it is based entirely on live, practical examples that everybody will enjoy reading chapter by chapter.

BackBox Linux 3.13 released!

The BackBox Team is pleased to announce the updated release of BackBox Linux, the version 3.13.

This release include features such as Linux Kernel 3.11, EFI mode, Anonymous mode and armhf Debian packages.

The ISO images (32bit & 64bit) can be downloaded from the following location:

Upgrade instructions

To upgrade from a previous version (BackBox v.3.09) follow these instructions:

sudo -s
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
apt-get install -f
apt-get install linux-generic-lts-saucy
apt-get install backbox-desktop backbox-minimal --reinstall

New project started, Climber

Climber is an automated auditing tool to check UNIX/Linux systems misconfigurations which may allow local privilege escalation.

Climber connects to a remote host using SSH or Telnet connections and automatically performs shell commands that are grouped in plugin directory.

Install in BackBox Linux

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install climber
